Tony Weber, owner of Prairie Oaks Memorial Eco Gardens, will be the featured speaker at the monthly Twin Cities Green Drinks (TCGD) meeting, at 6 p.m., on April 14, at The Republic in Minneapolis.

Prairie Oaks is Minnesota's first green cemetery, and as a land restoration project will provide habitat for wildlife, a more diverse ecosystem, and more meaningful burial options for people who want to make a positive impact on the environment. Green cemeteries do not allow toxic embalming fluids, metal caskets, concrete vaults or standing grave markers. They are green spaces and often look like parks.

Michelle Hamburger, TCGD organizer and host, says “I’m looking forward to hearing all of the information Tony has to share about the growing popularity of green graves.”

Green Drinks is a global organization found in cities all over the world. The organization is made up of local volunteers that bring people together each month to share ideas, stories, goals, news and other environmental information.
