Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is a method of stretching often used by today's athletes, massage therapists, personal/athletic trainers and professionals. AIS allows the body to repair itself and also to prepare for daily activity.

AIS is more than just reclaiming expanded movement. It can increase the elasticity of your muscles, ligaments and fascia, improve circulation and help balance the flow of energy along the meridian points of the body. This technique is set apart by its great ability to target specific muscle groups and allow them to either relax or strengthen to their highest potential. This is accomplished by holding the stretch for only two seconds which maximizes circulation to the affected area, allowing oxygenated blood to replenish the tissues, releasing the fascia and avoiding the stretch reflex.

AIS can help with injury recovery, enhance athletic performance, improve lymphatic and meridian flow, alleviate muscle soreness, reduce physical pain, reduce muscle spasms, improve posture and breathing, increase movement and more.

Theodore Rick uses AIS as well as massage therapy at his two office locations: 6009 Wayzata Blvd., Ste. 107, St Louis Park, and 15612 Hwy. 7, Ste. 252, Minnetonka. For more information and appointment, call 763-913-672, email [email protected] or visit HealingTaj.com.
