Healing Taj Brings Massage Therapy to Ninjas United Summer Competition

Theodore Rick of Healing Taj will be providing massage and Active Isolated Stretching (AIS), a performance enhancement therapy, at the Ninjas United Summer 2015 Competition, taking place 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on August 29, in Buffalo, Minnesota.

Ninjas United is a training studio where participants compete in the challenging obstacle course made popular by the television show, American Ninja Warrior. Kevin Hogan and Jose Lara, co-owners of the studio, say their ninja warrior training ground is drawing people from both in and out of state, some who dream of trying out for the NBC reality show, others just looking for an extreme body workout. In the summer competition, contestants will be pushing their bodies to the limit, vying to win a portion of the $3,000 prize money being offered.

Rick, a former athlete and skilled naturalist, is an advanced practitioner of AIS, having studied and trained under its founder and creator, Aaron L. Mattes, RKT, LMT. AIS is no less than transformational bodywork. With the right coaching and assistance, clients relax, strengthen and heal areas they couldn’t before. AIS helps decrease pain, promote muscle healing and improve stability. Clients have been able to avoid surgery and cease painkillers.

At the upcoming summer competition, Rick will provide Ninja warriors as well as spectators with AIS as well as massage therapy. His background includes extensive training and experience in reflexology, qi gong, gua sha, Swedish, deep tissue, pregnancy, pediatric and hospital massage. At Healing Taj, he serves the spectrum of clients, from children to the elderly, athletes and dancers to those with injuries.

Dr. Una Forde will also be on hand at the competition offering free chiropractic screenings for all and chiropractic first aid to participants who may need it. Forde has been a practicing chiropractor for more than 22 years, with an office in St. Louis Park. Her services include kinesiology, acupuncture and cranialsacral therapy.

Cost: Spectators $8. Participants $80 (must be 16+). To register, call 763-568-1675, visit Eventbrite.com/e/ninjas-united-summer-2015-competition-tickets-17203682678?aff=es2, or Ninjas United on Facebook.
