Natural Awakenings Twin Cities

Linda Tellington-Jones Leads TTouch for You Workshop

A two-day and four-day workshop for TTouch will be presented from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., June 3 to 6, at the University of Minnesota's Leatherdale Equine Center, in St Paul.

TTouch is a system of gentle, circular touches that work at the cellular level to activate the body's potential. Linda Tellington-Jones created TTouch  in 1983 for the training and care of horses and other animals. While learning the system, horse and pet owners practiced the techniques on each other to better understand what their animals were experiencing. The effectiveness of TTouch for people became apparent.

Over the years, people of all ages have realized a newfound sense of well-being and renewal using TTouch. They also experience relief from everyday physical and emotional issues such as headaches, backache, neck pain, depression, anxiety and sensitivity to touch.

Nurses, massage therapists, physical therapists, physicians and cranialsacral therapists are successfully integrating these techniques into their practices. Massage therapists and physical therapists find TTouch especially effective in cases of chronic pain and fibromyalgia. In addition to the clinical applications, many healthcare professionals experience much needed relaxation and stress relief for themselves. TTouch forYou  is easy to learn and requires no special equipment.

Training at this workshop includes the Body Blessing, the Heart Hug and the Essential Three. These techniques have been used internationally and found to be particularly helpful while responding to trauma, natural disasters and critical incidents.

The course is approved for 14 continuing education (CE) credits by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Nursing CEUs & graduate credits may be available.

Workshop participants will receive at no charge the book/ DVD set TTouch for Healthcare by Tellington-Jones  and Cecilia Wendler; so they can continue the practice at home and learn how others successfully integrate the work into their practices.

Natural Awakenings readers who complete registration for the workshop by May 5 will receive an autographed copy of Tellington-Jones’ first book as a special gift.

Cost varies depending on number of days and whether choosing the self-care or the professional option. Location: University of Minnesota, St. Paul Campus. For more information and to register, call 1 800-854-8326 or visit TTouch.com.
