Slice of Shoreview Days Offers Family Fun

Slice of Shoreview Days’ annual three-day festival will be held in Shoreview from July 26 through July 28. The site for the event is Island Lake County Park, located at the intersection of Interstate 694 and Victoria Street.

The wide variety of family-oriented activities include a carnival, art and craft fair, food vendors, helicopter rides, parade, talent contest, volleyball tournament, car and motorcycle show, bike ride, free senior shuttles, music and fireworks. The talent contest will kick off the event, beginning at 4:30 on Friday. Following the talent show at 6 p.m. is the Rockin’ Hollywoods, who have played at the event for the past 20 years. Other musical entertainment throughout the weekend includes the Teddy Bear Band, Rock It Science, High and Mighty and Holy Rocka Rollaz. The parade begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, followed by an open house from noon to 6 p.m. at the Lake Johanna Fire Department

Back by popular demand is Dock Dogs, the canine aquatic competition. Dock Dogs is scheduled for all three days of the festival. New this year, according to organizer Jacci Krebsbach, are stand-up paddleboard rides, pontoon rides and Slice of Shoreview Days’ commemorative buttons.
