Annual Green Gifts Fair Returns to Minneapolis

Do It Green! Minnesota

Do It Green! Minnesota will host its 13th annual Green Gifts Fair, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on November 17, at Midtown Global Market, in Minneapolis.

Visitors can shop among local, eco-friendly artists and businesses and enjoy cooking demonstrations and kids’ activities. The theme this year is My Green Journey and participants are encouraged to share and reflect on their own green journeys, including what they’ve learned, the steps they’ve taken and how they have expanded their personal journey with their community.

Patagonia will demonstrate the lifecycle of clothing and artist Rachel Breen will have a special sewing demonstration to bring awareness to the impact on the lives of overseas workers who make our clothing. There will be over 85 vendors with upcycled, recycled, fair trade and locally made gifts, as well as master gardeners who will engage visitors in several topics, including human rodent control.

The Midtown Global Market is an internationally themed public market featuring fresh and prepared foods, restaurants and a selection of arts and crafts from around the world.

Cost: $1 donation/person, accepted at the door. Location: 920 E. Lake St., Minneapolis. For more information, visit DoItGreen.org. If you are interested in volunteering for the event, call 763-647-8584 or email [email protected].
