Natural Awakenings Twin Cities - November 2019

As I reflect on everything I am thankful for this November, I am reminded of the wonderful times I’ve spent with loved ones around our Thanksgiving table—the resultant laughter from the stories that are told, the delicious food we leisurely take our time enjoying, and the warmth of the home against the crisp fall air. This year’s holiday will be spent in our new home in New Hope, and I am excited to have my son and daughter-in-law nearby to spend time together.I will take a tip from Foodie April Thompson in this month’s issue, who brings joy to the season’s table with her take on “Zenful Eating: Mindful Meals in Quiet Gratitude”. Three of the nation’s top Zen chefs share their wisdom about being grateful, present and peaceful at mealtime—just in time for Thanksgiving!
For all our parents out there, Ronica O’Hara offers parental tips for instilling thankfulness—one of the most teachable, growable strengths in our children. “Kids With Gratitude: Making Thankfulness Second Nature” is based on emerging research that shows gratitude to be one of the easiest, most effective ways to kick-start happiness and well-being—at any age.
Don’t forget to do something nice for yourself this month and join us at Your Shining Life Expo 2019 Guide, on Saturday, November 9th. This month’s issue is a special edition and includes the full program of expo information. Simply flip the magazine over to peruse descriptions of all the great workshops and exhibitors who will be providing services, products and leading-edge information for your self-care and well-being. It’s a great time to get your holiday shopping done early—and what could be better than the gift of good health?
As always, I am deeply grateful for you, our valued reader, supporter and friend.
Wishing you wellness,
