Bhakti Wellness Center Welcomes New Primary Care Doctor

Guy Odishaw, owner of Bhakti Wellness Center, in Edina, announces the addition of Dr. Isaac Engholm, a direct primary care physician. Direct primary care (DPC) departs from traditional insurance-based models of primary care and provides patients with more attention from their physician when they need it. It allows patients to pay a physician directly, whether they have insurance or not. By working directly with patients and cutting out the middleman, Engholm can lower costs while simultaneously improving access to care by providing more time to patients and decreasing waiting times.

“With healthcare costs continuing to rise, we saw the need to add the services of Dr. Engholm to our practice,” states Odishaw. “An affordable and personalized approach with a physician is what we all deserve, and Dr. Engholm is committed to bringing this to his patients.”

The primary care practice is based on a monthly membership which costs $75/adult and $25/child (with adult member). The membership includes unlimited office visits as well as telehealth and local home visits at no additional charge. Patients can call any time, 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, reducing the need for after-hour urgent care and emergency room visits. Services also include discounted lab testing, including cholesterol checks for just $5.

“Most of my office visits last nearly an hour, as compared to the normal 15 to 20 minutes most people are used to,” says Engholm. “I care about people and I want to focus on the patients I serve, and that’s why I decided to switch to the direct primary care model of medicine.”

All primary care expenses are in-clinic, guaranteeing no surprise bills. Most patients can use their Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to cover the monthly costs.
