Lime Relaunches E-Scooters in Twin Cities

Lime, the world’s largest shared electric vehicle company, has relaunched a fleet of 650 industry-leading Gen4 e-scooters in Minneapolis, with an additional 150 at the University of Minnesota, as well as a full fleet in St. Paul—one of the company’s longest running markets. To add something this year, Lime has also launched a fleet of 1,000 of its industry-leading Gen4 e-bikes for the first time in Minneapolis. Lime’s introduction of e-bikes ensures Minneapolis residents will have continued access to bikeshare service following the loss of Nice Ride. The Gen4 e-bike pairs perfectly with its e-scooter counterpart to provide different options for various types of trips.

In its ongoing effort to prioritize safety and equity in the Twin Cities, Lime’s discounted rides program, Lime Access, offers significant discounts for riders receiving public assistance. Eligible riders can sign up for “Lime Access” on the website. To further bolster this program, Lime will offer automatic discounts in the city’s Equity Distribution Areas, regardless if users are signed up for Lime Access.

"Lime takes pride in our continued partnership with Minneapolis, a city that is able to rely on us to provide sustainable transportation options that are safe, affordable and emissions-free. We know the keys to success in Minneapolis are safety and equity, which is why we’ll continue our proactive safety outreach and ensure shared vehicles are available to all riders, regardless of ZIP code or income," shares LeAaron Foley, director of Government Relations at Lime. “We look forward to working to increase ridership among folks underserved by traditional transportation options while strengthening connections to Metro Transit buses and light rail,” further explains Foley.
