Jajja’s Story: Jajja Margaret Luttaaya was born in 1939 in Uganda (East Africa). She was a pioneer, mixing ancient indigenous wisdom, organic fruits and other healthful ingredients to make and sell her famous delicious wellness tonics. Her energy and love went into every bottle. Today, Jajja’s grandson, Henry, carries on her legacy, making those same wellness tonics for all to enjoy and be healthy!

Henry’s Story: Henry, an Ugandan immigrant and now a proud U.S. citizen, was raised by his Aunty from ages 5-17 after his parents, from illness and war, passed away. Henry moved to the U.S. after earning a scholarship to a university in Minnesota. Henry worked tirelessly in his studies of English and Business and nally achieved his Master’s degree. He met his wife, Alexandra, in 2008 and they now enjoy their two wonderful children and call Minnesota home. While they were still in college, Henry and his wife sent small quantities of money back to Uganda to help his grandmother’s juice business. Jajja Wellness tonics originated in his Ugandan grandmother’s kitchen. Henry helped and learned from her, she boiled down pineapple and ginger to create a restorative drink. She knew a lot of ancient African herbal medicine, was a nurse, and knew principles of Chinese medicine. When she passed away, Henry decided to continue her legacy in his home of Hawaii. He sold tonics all over the island of Oahu, partnering with local farmers, businesses as well as the wellness community. There he created a personal relationship with each farmer who grew the ingredients, ensuring their quality and growing conditions. Flavors such as The Pineapple Ginger tonic from his grandmother’s recipe, oers immune boosting and anti-nausea qualities. Another fan favorite is Moringa, called the Tree of Life. It is prized in India, China and Africa, and said to aid in curing disease. His Turmeric tonic is powerful and delicious, whether in its unsweetened or naturally sweetened variety, providing all the anti-inammatory and antioxidant properties of curcumin.

Moving his company to the Minnesota has allowed Henry the opportunity to develop a strong partnership, which will help spread Jajja’s wonderful wellness tonics across the U.S.A. Now, through JAJJA Wellness, they are researching and developing new recipes that support people’s whole health, just as his grandmother did in her time.
