The Chickadee Boutique, in Shoreview, is opens for its holiday season through the end of December. The seasonal gift shop is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, as well as the first Sunday of each month.

The Chickadee Boutique was started in 1979 by six artistic friends and another friend who owned the building, a 1940s stone cottage. Unique to the Twin Cities, the Chickadee Boutique features the work of artists who design and handcraft original works such as pottery, jewelry, floral arrangements, fabric, clothing and accessories, stained glass and furniture. The boutique also features metal and glass garden art and architecture, such as stepping stones, gates and arbors.

The books and CDs are also local and regional, and authors and artists often stop in to make personal appearances. Daily samples of food products are available as well, including soups, breads, jams, honey, cookies and candies.
