The Chickadee Boutique, in Shoreview, features the work of more than 150 local artists. The seasonal gift shop is open Thursdays through Sundays until Mother’s Day, May 11, its last day this spring season.

The Chickadee Boutique was started in 1979 by six artistic friends and another friend who owned the building, a 1940s stone cottage. Unique to the Twin Cities, the Chickadee Boutique features the work of artists who design and handcraft original works such as pottery, jewelry, floral arrangements, fabric, clothing and accessories, stained glass and furniture. The boutique also features metal and glass garden art and architecture, such as stepping stones, gates and arbors.

The boutique also offers local and regional books and CDs, and authors and artists sometimes stop in to make personal appearances.
