HAMMS Event is May 3

The second annual HAMMS (Help a Minnesota Maker Succeed) Event will take place on May 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the former Hamm’s Brewery shipping docks, in St. Paul.

This one-day, dog-friendly, crowd-funding market will help support small businesses in Minnesota. Founders Becky Sturm (of StormSister Spatique and 3WayBeauty) and Sairey Gernes (of UrbanUndercover and TowelTopper) are two entrepreneurs, with two companies each, who have participated in the pop-up market circuit.

The HAMMS Event was born out of the “shop local” and “shop small business” movement, and around the fact that small businesses need to stick together. In 2013 Sturm and Gernes gave $5,000 in HAMMS event ticket sales and donations to one “Minnesota Maker” to help bring that business to the next level.

“When we all stick together we can make a difference,” says Sturm.

Cost: $10 online; $15 at the door. Location: Former Hamm’s Brewery shipping docks (top floor of the Everest Building), 713 E. Minnehaha Ave., St Paul. For more information, visit HammsEvent.com.
