Body Movement & Sensory Class Starts in St. Paul

Breana Larson

Breana Larson, certified Rolfer at Awaken for Wellness, in St. Paul, is now offering movement and sensory education classes at the Kamala Chaand Dance Company Studio, in East St. Paul. Larson will offer the two-hour classes at the following times: Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.; second and fourth Saturdays from 2 to 4 p.m.; and first and third Sundays from noon to 2 p.m.

This class is for anyone looking to deepen their relationship with their body and improve the quality and experience of moving and being in the world. A variety of sensory awareness and movement explorations will be included in order to facilitate fluidity, flexibility, coordination, perception and new opportunities, while reducing the hold of poor movement habits and chronic pain.

"Exploring the body's movement capacity is such a beneficial activity for those who work with bodies, as well as for anyone who wants to better understand the many ways of improving one's flexibility, coordination or pain relief,” says Larson.

Each week will have a different theme or focus on a certain region of the body. Vitality and growth of mind and body will be stimulated through both subtle micro-movements and expansive, full-body explorations. These classes are open to anyone with or without prior bodywork or movement experience. Some anatomy, theory on movement and its role in our lives, and space for sharing/learning from the group will also be included atop the foundation of individual movement inquiry.

Classes are ongoing and students are welcome to attend as a series or as a drop-in class (pre-registration still required to ensure adequate space/props/handouts).

Cost: $35/person per class (package discounts available). Location: 1051 Hudson Rd., St. Paul. To pre-register, call 218-251-7608 or email [email protected]. More information and any changes to the schedule will be posted on RolfingStPaul.com.
