Hilde-Fest 2015, Hildegard of Bingen

The fourth annual Hildegard Fest, Hildegard of Bingen: Her Way and Her Wisdom, takes place September 18 to 20, at the Christine Center, in Willard, Wisconsin. This annual event celebrates St. Hildegard, a 12th century German Benedictine abbess, writer, composer, philosopher, Christian mystic and visionary.

The featured presenter is Dr. Avis Clendenen, who teaches courses in both pastoral and practical theology at Xavier University, in Chicago, and is the author of Experiencing Hildegard: Jungian Insights into the Spiritual Vision of 12th Century Hildegard of Bingen.

Hildegard cultivated a deep appreciation of holistic healing and is credited with recording more than 2,000 remedies. She considered treating symptoms to be a futile effort. The whole body and the all-important soul required consideration for the healing process to be successful. Not only was there a close connection between diet and health, but also between the body and food, and between the human and the cosmos.

Visitors and guests at the Christine Center can explore the gifts of meditation, holistic wellness, and mystical spirituality from both Christian and Eastern traditions. Come learn how to help transform the world through transforming yourself.

Cost: $200 (If sliding scale or scholarship is needed, email [email protected].) Location: W8303 Mann Rd., Willard, WI. For more information and registration, call 715-267-7507 or visit ChristineCenter.org.
