Recycle Old Holiday Lights in Minnesota

Drop off your old, tangled and broken holiday lights at any participating location during the holiday season as part of Recycle Your Holidays. There are over 400 locations across the state where they will take old Christmas lights, including Home Depot, Ace Hardware and local recycling facilities.

Recycle Your Holiday is a one-of-a-kind statewide holiday light recycling program in Minnesota created and managed by the Recycling Association of Minnesota. The program is promoted in partnership with Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTS), WCCO-TV and many more. It employs more than 200 individuals with disabilities at vocational centers throughout the state. The lighting strands are dismantled by vocational center clients and properly recycled locally.

The average Minnesota home can save between $10 and $250 each holiday season by switching to LED holiday lighting. Check to see if your utility offers rebates for LED holiday lights.
