Minnesota Lyme Association Benefit on April 24

To kick off Lyme Disease Awareness Month, in May, the Plymouth Playhouse will host a benefit performance of “Country Roads, the Music of John Denver”, on April 24, to raise funds and awareness for the Minnesota Lyme Association (MLA). The benefit includes a Silent Auction starting at 5 p.m. followed by the play starting at 6 p.m. A Live Auction will take place after the play.

The mission of MLA is to provide a supportive environment for people affected by Lyme and other vector-borne diseases and to educate the public and health professionals in the prevention, diagnosis and effective treatment of these diseases.

Minnesota and Wisconsin are high risk states for infected ticks spreading vector-borne diseases like Lyme. The two states consistently rank in the top 10 states for reported Lyme disease cases.

To donate goods or services for this benefit, contact Dorian Chalmers at 763-242-3096 to arrange for pickup or mailing. Cash donations can be mailed to MLA, P.O. Box 533, Hugo, MN 55038 or donate at MNLyme.org. MLA is a nonprofit organization and donations are tax deductible.

Cost: $10/per person. Location: 2705 Annapolis Ln., (inside the Ramada Plymouth Hotel and Conference Center), Plymouth. To reserve tickets, call 763-533-1600, Ext. 1 or visit PlymouthPlayhouse.com.
