This time of year gives us a chance to tune back into our body, mind and spirit. Sometimes the cooler temperatures and the windy weather may bring a shift in how we feel. We shine the spotlight on Acupuncture, Chiropractic and Massage therapies, among other forms of Bodywork, in honor of our theme this month: Whole Body Alignment. We explore how these holistic health modalities not only support healing, but promote lifelong wellness on page 12. “Longevity and quality of life into advanced age are the cornerstones of Ayurvedic philosophy and treatment,” shares Leah Moss. Her article on page 22 helps us learn more about anti-aging herbs to naturally support our vitality.

I think it’s important to note that some of the most helpful wellness habits and health services we opt for are both the most helpful and the most subtle. One nutritious salad, one brisk walk or a single massage may not yield immediate results. But consistent nourishment, regular movement and routine bodywork are keys to long-term vitality. In the article Growing Whole, Not Just Old, on page 20, Carol Orsborn explores the journey of aging healthfully through every decade of our life.

We also give thanks to Mother Nature during this colorful season. Going green can feel tough at times, and we’re here to make it simpler. We explore fair-trade environmentalism featured in our Green Living section online at NATwinCities.com. And don’t miss our Local, Sustainable, Healthy Holiday Gift Guide, coming in November!

Wishing you a healthy and happy autumn!
